Yes please.

I think you are right. Looks like the qvitter theme is the one that's asking to enable the javascript. I apologize for this.
-
I love !xmpp but I think it maybe time to use other alternatives like #ricochet or #Tox.
-
I think it maybe because of the qvitter theme?

Thank you for replying. When I try to access quitter.se and other sites, it's asking me to enable javascript. Is there a way to access those instances without enabling it? There was once a way to do it, for example: old.quitter.se
-
Here's a snapshot of it https://web.archive.org/web/20131016033255/http://old.quitter.se/

I remember there was a way to access quitter.se without enabling javascript. I think it was "old.quitte.se" or something. Those who have been here a long time *may* remember it.

Say farewell to Farcebook and hello to federation and !freesoftware

I also had my very first Hardy Heron Ubuntu CD thru shipit. Never thought they would send me one because I'm on the other side of the world, but they did! It was such a rush for me to install and use for the first time. Ah ... the memories.

What's curious is that I can access Mastadon instances than !gnusocial ones because I need to turn on javascript.
-
For one to one chat I use #ricochet , for group chats I use #tox !privacy
-
I remember there was a way to access the "classic" mode of quitter by using a different url; like adding /classic at the end or something.

I'm glad to see @rw article about the story of StatusNet/GNU Social/Mastodon being shared on different sites and people seems to agree is more complete than the copy-and-paste jobs most tech writers did.
If you haven't read it, do it https://robekworld.com/what-is-gnu-social-and-is-mastodon-social-a-twitter-clone-1b12a98c37ec
