     @awg to be fair tho the person who made this game calls it a story generator and the really skilled minmaxers teend to forget that. they only wanna play like on an ice sheet proveing how good they are.
     my favorit story so far is the negative moodlet one of the characters got.
     The prisoner who died of Infection, made him well sad. even though he put him and another into hospital with serious pain and multiple injuries. so I only had one colonist avalible to treat everyones wounds. the prisoner was treated by the way but his cell was hot and dirty...
     no time to create a proper one. the only other option was to let him just lay on the ground and die of exposure or blood loss.

     also you can choose pretty much any terrain as a starter for your colony and Ice sheet is probably the hardest.

     @awg I think the farthest I ever got and this was years ago and I had picked tropical rainforest and like what killed the colony was and I had goten pretty far by turning a moutain into our main base, was a lightning strike starting a electric fire I tried to pull all the people out but couldnt (the wires from the electric grid led straight into base) then after the fire some burns turned into Infections and everyone was dead.

     from how I understand it, they pick events based on their algos and player situation.
     have a bunch of stockpiled silver more raids from bandits and pirates.
     the alpha beaver event was so scary until you learn. basicly a bunch of geneticly mutated beavers come in and eat all the trees. and they are/were pretty hard to fight you can kill one but the others would like come after you for that.
