@clacke I don't know that there is effectively much difference. The "good old days" that Putin is trying to reclaim is the USSR, which was clearly an attempt to implement communism and to interfere in the politics and control of other nations. I can't see him displacing his cronies' ownership of major enterprises, but I'm sure he would like to have the government seize those enterprises that are not controlled by his buddies.
