lostinlightSo, we have spammers in #Mastodon. Not likely real spammers, but let's call them that anyway. What I find interesting is that they use absolutely relevant tags, possibly, most popular around here. Which means some research work has been done. Like in #diaspora, mastodon's tag subscription feature is one way to relay information to larger groups of people, and it will inevitably be abused. I guess nothing can really be done about it? Except teaching kids at schools to not follow dodgy links.
