and, of course, if you run your own instance, then you don't have to worry about it being shut down

but kaniini, you say, "i want to interact with whitelist-only instances like awoo.space." getting on their whitelist is pretty easy, it's not a big deal at all as long as you agree to follow their rules when interacting with them
