Regarding trusting #Twitter:
Their presented theory and praxis might differ. That's not nessasary an issue, but turns out be troubeling when an authority has all the power to decide on how to act. To a large extend it makes the selfdefined theory unrelevant

@z428 @hikerus @paulfree14 @bjoern @digitalcourage @norbert Ich bleibe dabei: Warum sollte ein beispielsweise ein Nutzer bei #Twitter irgendetwas verändern, wenn ihm tatsächlich "nebenbei" in einem Diskurs oder mittels einer Meldung die "Botschaft" überbracht wird, dass es AUCH freie Alternativen gibt?
Genau an dem Punkt sprechen wir auch über ideologische Grundsätze und Technik (Hard- / Software) kann sich an dem Punkte nicht davon einfach freisprechen. Erst wenn dem besagten Nutzer #Twitter so dermaßen gegen den Strich läuft, dass er / sie sich selbst auf die Suche macht und hierher findet, wäre eine mögliche Grundlage vorhanden. Alles Andere wird nur in einer kurzen Stippvisite enden. Zumal auch rein von den Nutzerzahlen her betrachtet große Instanzen gleich wieder mehr "Begehrlichkeiten" wecken und dem dezentralen Grundsatzprinzip zuwider laufen. -

@paulfree14 @hikerus @bjoern @digitalcourage @z428 @norbert Sehe ich genauso wie Paul: Unabhängigkeit und Freidenker sind mir lieber als zunächst einmal noch eine Diskussion mit einem wie auch immer gearteten Tester zu führen. Grundsätzlich habe ich auch da erst einmal keine Einwände. Dennoch ermüden dann die steten Vergleiche wie "Bei X ist es aber besser, WEIL" und "Y macht aber MEHR".
Kontexte gilt es zu erkennen und dann zu prüfen, ob man selbst mit genau diesem arbeiten kann. Da gilt es auch eigene Standpunkte auf den Prüfstand zu stellen, warum man beispielsweise #Twitter und #Facebook nutzt. Wie heißt es so schön? Irgendwann blickt der "Abgrund" auch in dich hinein, wenn du nur lange genug in ihn blickst. Von dem Modell die "Botschaft" andernorts zu überbringen, halte ich so rein gar nichts. Denn der Wunsch zur Veränderung muss aus dem Individuum selbst heraus entstehen. Wenn man nur bei #Twitter, #Facebook, #YouTube und Co. agiert macht man es sich selbst zu einfach! -

@mschultheiss Gibt es derweil wahrscheinlich auch nicht, da tatsächlich NUR das Medium #Twitter verfügbar ist. Schade und kaum einen Blick zu dem Kommentarverlauf weiter unten kriechen wieder einmal verkürzte Meinungsbilder dazu.

Yes. They speculate on something that could happen if others would use/depend less on suvailience capitalist based plattforms.

In its endless 'brilliance' #twitter not only discouraged blocking JS a few days ago (making it a lot harder to merely read tweets without JS) but also, once again, broke the site's editor for all browsers other than the 'major' (proprietary) ones. Sickening. -

hmm ... echt schwierige Entscheidung mit den Netzen. Auf einer Seite finde ich #Hubzilla klasse. Es hat einige wirklich sehr tolle Ansätze, auch, wenn es manchmal zu überfordern scheint. Es bietet aber eine saubere UI, Wiki, und und und. Wenn jetzt noch wieder ein auth_ejabberd.php wieder mit rein kommt, ist es wirklich sehr geil.
Auf der anderen Seite ist #Mastodon. Es ist wirklich sehr schnell, mit #Halcyon auch wesentlich übersichtlicher und die Eingewöhnung von #Twitter her fällt einem gleich sehr viel leichter. Die ursprüngliche Idee des original Themes als anlehnung zu #Tweetdeck hin ist nicht schlecht, allerdings noch ... sagen wir mal ... ausbaufähig.
Ich glaube, ich benutze einfach beide, auch, wenn ich mit #Hubzilla die Feeds von #GNUsocial, #Mastodon und Co. integrieren könnte.
