@zatnosk @fla @banjofox yes, good #UX requires that clients are able to signal to users when a contact can and can't use a service -

@davidross sure. I'm imagining a client app with #GIT as the backend. The #UX failures of #GITHub don't really come into it. -

@patdavid @eylul @GIMP @prokoudine Recently, I have been feeling like I am really contributing to #GitHub projects 🙌 because of the issues I bring up, especially regarding #Godot #Game #Engine. I think if #GIMP was on there, issue reporting would get so silky smooth ✨ Old style bug trackers not only don’t LOOK good — they don’t USE good from a #UX perspective.

@deadsuperhero that sounds like implementation issues. From a #UX POV, subscribing to #HashTags is easier to understand than !groups -

Sigh, huge #UX problem with share replies on #Socialhome.. Damn you #diaspora protocol.. 😑
Currently it's like this:
The first reply is on the original content. The rest of the replies are on the reshare I made with my diaspora account.
I'm really not sure how to go with this. Separate reply "sections" by share with replies might be the only way.. Then provide a "reply" button for each share "section"... It's kind of annoying, but otherwise the replies are not guaranteed to ever go to the right place in diaspora protocol network. Which would be even more annoying.

@clacke he's certainly grasped the problem that needs solving. I like the federated approach but the #UX needs work. -

@ebel @Katharsisdrill @shel i've been ragging on the free software community to step up its game in regard to #ux for years. #ssb has me really excited tho, i'm quite motivated to experiment with this tech and see what kind of cool shit i can come up with.

> decentralizing it would probably be a barrier to it getting widespread adoption
remember bit torrent? remember gnu/social? remember mastodon?
we just need to spend time on the #ux and good #mobile support.

@xurizaemon I love geeking out about #UX! Let's do that over green tea and a game of go sometimes soon -

@silverwizard having worked on #UX a *lot*, I disagree with you about why software sucks, but I respect the depth of your thinking there -

@tobias automated cloning onto a couple of other instances (email details to new user) could be one way to improve #Hubzilla #UX -

@kodo I haven't figured out to install #Ring on !trisquel or #Mint GNU/Linux yet :-{ I'm working on it. Have you have a good #UX with it? -

@wakest but it doesn't work for everything, and dev sometimes breaks it, and the #UX isn't always smooth. The work is ongoing ;) -

@gargron as I said yesterday I really love the #UX you've created with #Mastodon. Just so you know, now I'm testing, I'll get a bit critical -

One thing that would really improve #Tim #Federation #UX is a way to display the branching of threads, so replies stay in sensible sequences -

@20hz @zatnosk Hmm. Can you reply to a thread on one #Mastodon instance from another one? Would improve #UX if this was possible generally -

@lambadalambda @hobbsc but I've found 'thing x sucks, fix it' is less helpful than #UX nerds offer specific advice, even visual mock-ups -

@hobbsc is there a group that works on improving the #UX across the #Federation? If so I'd be keen to join it. If not maybe there could be?
